Today is day one. It was a 30 day cycle - is that good news? I'm not sure. Last month, it was 22 days. So, take the average and we are at 26 days which is my normal (at least before I started pumping drugs into my body).
I'm going to call the doctor today and delay starting the IVF cycle. I'm feeling good about that decision except the minor detail that at age 41, I probably shouldn't delay much... what can 26 more days do? Expel that last good egg?

- 41, no make that 42 now, and the egg timer is just about to ring. Is time really up? My eggs are old, so they say. I guess I believe them since I have no reason to think otherwise. But I'm trying anyway. 2 IUIs on Clomid. 3rd IUI - Injectable BFN IUI #4 - canceled. Then a cyst. Cyst sort of goes away and then the true 4th IUI (injectible). BFN. Another cyst and thus another canceled cycle. Injectible IUI #5. BFN. Fybroid Tumor removed 11/6/07 IUI #6 - 1/21/08 BFN Donor Egg cycle, July /Aug 08 BFN Big cry. Onto adoption.

Hi! I'm in the same boat as you - 41 and doing IVF. I think it's a good idea to wait until after the holidays to do IVF. It's pretty stressful. I just think there isn't anyway your first IVF isn't. I did the micro-dose flare protocol for my first IVF, and didn't stimulate so well. Technically, it's supposed to be for my age, but that's just throwing darts at protocols to figure out which is the best. IVF#1 redo for me in January/February!
