!

We are still plodding along. Sorry for the silence.

The adoption process is not like cycling - now 2 week bursts of activity, emotion, doctor visits, numbers to report, etc. There seems to be no pattern to the adoption process - things happen on their own time and I have no idea when the end date is.

As we are adopting through the county foster/adoption program, we need to become licensed foster parents. We attended the orientation 2 weeks ago and were surprised that they said we would have a home visit in 30 - 45 days from the foster licensing worker. You see, while we have cleaned out our guest room somewhat, it is no where near being a child's room. So, I spent the past weekend clearing everything out of that room (it was our ironing room, art room, storage room, and guest room). Steamed cleaned the carpet. So. Now we have an empty room. Still not a child's room.

Our next task is the scary one. Making it look like a child's room. We haven't been approved - yet to be approved, we have show that we are ready for a child or two. We need a crib. We need a changing table and dresser. It seems too real and too hopeful to acquire these items. I dread having a child-ready room sitting in our house months before we are even approved for adoption. I understand that they want us to be ready. I want to be ready. But I'd rather get ready after we were approved.

On the other hand, I get to shop for a child's room! I have no idea if we are talking about a boy or girl, a 6 month old or a 3.5 year old, one or two, etc. That makes it a big challenging. I'm going to try to borrow the big items from family members in case we don't need them.

Well, this is where we are. Still plodding along.

It sounds exciting -- but I can understand the hesitancy -- the struggle of infertility takes so much from us -- at least I feel that way -- not like another who could blissfully trip towards the next step -- decorating rooms and such -- we just almost know too much -- if that makes sense? I hope for you the uncomplicated joy of decorating that room -- with hope and excitement...

Love,

Pam

That sounds really hard, but can be exciting at the same time. I hope you have made some progress.

We also had to go for DE IVF abroad. Prices for this procedure here in my country are pretty high. I have PCOS and unfortunately all our attempts to conceive a baby gave no result. We spent so much money for treatment and medicines. We even thought to forget about kids and live as it is. But damn, it was just impossible for us! We wanted to have children, to create big and happy family. So we decided not to put up with the situation. We started our search for a clinic in Europe. We’ve found a couple of good ones, 'explored’ each review and each website, where those clinics were mentioned. And of course official websites were learned by heart. So after the discussions, thinking through all pros and cons, we chose Ukrainian clinic biotexcom. So, we came to the clinic and our doctor told us everything about donation. In the case of 5 failures, the clinic promised to refund us our money. I’ve got pregnant from the first attempt! I gave birth to two beautiful kids, Daniel and Denis. The clinic has warm atmosphere and positive influence. The service was pretty good, they gave us guarantees on success. I don't know if I help you... At first we considered Mexico too. But some reviews put us on guard. Be careful and pay attention to all details during your search! I hope you'll find all needed answers.

I am happy to share my experience. I contacted Ukrainian clinic BioTexCom after having negative experiences from a center in the UK. The UK center was negative because of my age at 46. I decided to look elsewhere. I contacted various IVF clinics throughout Europe. I was apprehensive about the language barrier and the clinic helping to create a wonderful baby. I contacted the coordinator at BioTexCom who was immediately receptive, very professional and answered all my questions and concerns. They were very clear from the beginning about what the treatment would entail including precise costs and timings which were important to us. We opted for a donor whom this clinic carefully matched to me in physical appearance such as height, eye and hair color and interests. The process was very simple and flights were booked easily to Kiev. The housing which was given by BioTexCom was fantastic. The clinic was immaculate and the manager I encountered spoke excellent English and was extremely professional and put us at ease. The treatment was very straightforward. We were kept up to date at every step and there was no anxiety or stress. We are delighted with not one but twin gorgeous babies who fit in perfectly in appearance to our other children. I could not praise this clinic and their staff enough as they were all truly amazing and so understanding and supportive. I’m so grateful to them for helping us create truly wonderful babies and making our family complete!
